|Prof. Nirzari Pandit
M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., English
Prof. Nirzari Pandit has been associated with Som Lalit College of Commerce as full-time faculty for the last 19 years. Presently, she heads the Department of English and Commercial Communication. Besides Business Communication, she teaches Soft Skills sand Foundation Subjects like Personality Development, Presentation Skills, Writing Skills and Environment Studies in accordance with the Guj.Uni. B. Com. Curriculum. She is also overall co-ordinator for academic as well as co-curricular activities at SLCC.
Prof. Nirzari has done her Masters followed by M.Phil. in English Literature from Gujarat University. She has successfully completed Ph.D. in English from Guj. Uni. in the area of Critical/Literary Theory. Her research involves a historical study of contemporary dystopian fiction. She has attended several state and national level workshops / seminars on diverse subjects like English Language Teaching, Post-colonial literatures, and Comparative Literature to name a few, and presented research papers. She has 4 published articles to her credit in anthologies of articles on iconic writers in Commonwealth literature.
Her experience includes teaching Business Communication at UG courses like BBA and BCA, and Professional courses, conducting workshops of English Language Learning for heterogynous groups of PG and UG students, and also framing of syllabus. Besides, it includes doing duties in various capacities as paper-setter, examiner, senior supervisor, observer, and so on at the external exams conducted by Gujarat University. She has been teaching the post graduate students doing Masters in English as visiting faculty at St. Xaviers’ College, Ahmedabad, for the last 10 years.
|Prof. Sanjay Raval
M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D., Statistics
Prof. Sanjay Raval has been associated with Som Lalit College of Commerce as full time faculty for the last 18 years and is Head of Department of Statistics. He has over 19 years of academic experience having recognition for Under Graduate teaching (UG) since 1997 and for Post Graduate teaching (PG) since 2007 for the subject of Statistics. His experience involves teaching in Gujarat University in various faculties like B.Com, BBA and M.Com, and in IGNOU in faculties of BCA and MCA.
He has completed Doctorate from Gujarat University in 2007 in Applied Statistics, published / presented 15 papers at various National and International Conferences / in various Journals. He is a recognized Ph.D. guide for Statistics with Gujarat University. He has also completed 2 refresher courses and 1 orientation course organized by the Academic Staff College, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. Besides, he has wide experience as Observer and Examiner at UG and PG exams of Gujarat University. He has also been co-ordinator for the B.Com Sem I and II Gujarat University external exams.
|Prof. Devangi Bhatt
Prof. Devangi Bhatt has been associated with SLCC for 18 years as full-time faculty and head of department of Economics. She has been teaching Business Economics, Macroeconomics, Development Economics, International Economics and Public Finance at undergraduate level. She has done her Masters in Economics from Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar. She excels in Performing Arts, especially acting, directing plays and script writing, for which she has earned several laurels. She is faculty in-charge for drama activites within college and for inter-collegiate competitions.
Prof. Devangi has served as evaluator & observer during Gujarat University Examination. She has completed one Orientation Course organized by Gujarat University. She has participated in an International Conference organized by Department of Education, Government of Gujarat at Gandhinagar and has also attended a seminar sponsored by UGC at Anand.
She was awarded by Sangeet Natak Academy, Government of Gujarat for 5 times for her Theatre Performance. She was awarded as best performer of last 15 years by Indian National Theatre (Mumbai). She has performed in esteemed events like ‘Kalidas Samaroh -Ujjain’ , ‘Bharat Rang Mahotsav-Agra’ and ‘Pruthavi Theatre Festival -Mumbai‘.
Also, she was awarded as Best Playwright by Reliance Industry Ltd., Bhavans Cultural Centre- Andheri and Chitralekha Magazine. Her collection of 26 short stories is being published by renowned Publication House ‘Navbharat Prakashan’.
|Prof. Kshama Balaji
Prof. Kshama Balaji has been full – time faculty for English and Commercial Communication with SLCC for the last 18 years. She has been teaching core subjects namely English and Commercial Communication and Soft skills / foundation subjects like Personality Development, Environment Studies, Presentation Skills and Writing Skills in accordance with the Gujarat University B.Com curriculum. She is also Faculty In-charge for Fine Arts activities organized at inter – college levels and within the college.
She has an M.A. in English from Kuvempu University, Karnataka. She has submitted her thesis towards completion of Ph.D. in English at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar, under the guidance of Dr. Nigam Dave. Her research area is focused on the city, culture, urbanity and literature.
She has presented seminar papers at State and National levels. She has completed 1 Orientation Course organized by the Academic Staff College, Gujarat University. She has also served as Examiner and Observer at the UG exams conducted by Gujarat University.
|Prof. Bhoomika Shah
M.Com., Accountancy, GUJ-SET, Commerce
Prof. Bhoomika Shah has been faculty for Accountancy and Auditing with SLCC for the last 18 years. She is M.Com. in Costing, from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. Presently, she heads the department of Accountancy. She is also faculty in-charge for competitions and performances of Dance activities (western, folk, classical) organized in the college as well as at inter-collegiate level. She has cleared SCOPE – certification exam for English language proficiency. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Commerce from S. D. School of Commerce, Gujarat University.
Her undergraduate teaching at SLCC includes subjects like General Accounts, Cost Accounting, Management Accounting, Cost & Financial Accounting, etc. She has wide experience as Observer and Examiner for the Gujarat University external exams.
Prof. Bhoomika has co-authored books for Accountancy subjects according to the B.Com. syllabus for Gujarat University students. She has attended workshops and seminars which include diverse and practical subjects like Tally Accounting. She has also completed 1 Orientation and 1 Refresher course organized by the Academic Staff College, Gujarat University.
|Prof. Sakina Merchant
M.Com., UGC-NET, Management
Prof. Sakina Merchant is associated with Som Lalit College of Commerce as full-time faculty for Business Organization and Management for the last 16 years. She has teaching experience of 19 years at UG courses at Guj. Uni. Presently, she heads the department of Business Management. She has done M.Com. in Advance Business Management and has successfully cleared the UGC-NET in Management. Presently, she is pursuing a Ph.D. from S. D. School of Commerce, Gujarat University, in the area of General Management. She teaches several subjects as part of the Gujarat University UG curriculum for B.Com., which include HRM, Marketing Mgt., Production Mgt., Finance Mgt., Rural Marketing, Services Mgt. and Indian Financial System. |Prof. Jahir Mansuri
C.A., M.Com., Accountancy
Prof. Jahir Mansuri is M.Com., LLB, F.C.A., DISA. He is s qualified and practicing Chartered Accountant. He has been in the field of academics and is full-time faculty for Accountancy and Taxation with SLCC for the last 11 years. He has done his Masters in Accountancy and has a Bachelor degree in Law from Gujarat University.
He teaches Taxation, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Auditing, etc., in accordance with the Gujarat University curriculum to the B.Com. students at Som Lalit College of Commerce. He also plays an active role in managing and organizing the cultural and co-curricular activities in the college.
|Prof. Nairuti Parikh
M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., English
Prof. Nairuti Parikh has more than 13 years of academic experience, including 10 years experience as full-time faculty for English and Commercial Communication with Som Lalit College of Commerce. Earlier, she has taught at leading institutes of Commerce, Management and Performing Arts as visiting faculty. She has been teaching English Language and Literature, Commercial Communication, Environment Studies and Personality Development in accordance with the Gujarat University curriculum for B.Com. She has also taught communication skills to the BBA students of Som Lalit Institute. She is faculty in-charge for Literary Arts activities including public speaking, quiz etc, for competitions within college and at inter-collegiate levels.
Prof. Nairuti has successfully completed a Ph.D. in English, in Diaspora Studies, focusing on Indo-Canadian diaspora writers, from the School of Languages, Gujarat University, under the guidance of Dr. Ranjana Harish, besides having completed her masters and M.Phil in English.
She has presented papers at reputed national and international seminars\conferences and has completed 1 Orientation course for college teachers organized by the Academic Staff College, Gujarat University. She has also served as moderator, paper-setter, observer and examiner at the Guj. Uni. external examinations.

full time faculty since last 11 years.She was awarded two gold medals for securing first position at Gujarat University in LLM. She has completed her doctorate in law on the topic of
‘International Instruments on Human Rights: An Analytical Study with Special Reference to Promotion and Protection of Women’s Rights in the State of Gujarat’
under the guidance of Dr. Kaushik Raval, Director, School of Law, Gujarat University.She is a member of syllabus committee at Gujarat University for law subject.She has been serving as a paper setter, moderator, examiner and observer at annual pattern and semester system for BBA and B.Com Programmes of Gujarat
University.She has presented and published research papers at various institutions, universities, national conferences and international seminars on the topic of women
empowerment, social rehabilitation centre for women, untouchables and manual scavenging, etc. Her research papers on the topic of ‘Agariya women’ and ‘Cross
border broken marriages’ were published in UGC recognized journals. Her chapter on ‘Social Media’ is in the book published by renowned international publication.
She had done orientation course and had attended workshop on legal research methodology. She had attended International Faculty Development Programme by UK-India Education Collaboration, organized by Gujarat University and coordinated by Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat.

|Prof. Utsavi Dave
M.Com., Accountancy, Management
Prof. Utsavi Dave is a full time faculty for Accountancy and Auditing since the last academic year. She has teaching experience of four years in all, which includes teaching management at IGNOU, besides her experience as visiting faculty at SLCC. She has an M.Com. in Accountancy from Gujarat University and an M.Com in Management from IGNOU.
At SLCC, she teaches various subjects which include Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Auditing, and also soft-skills and foundation subjects like Service Management, E-Communication and Analysis of Accounting Statements in accordance with the Gujarat University curriculum. Besides, she is faculty in-charge for Music events such as solo, duet as well as group singing organized at the college and inter-collegiate levels.
Utsavi Dave has also done International Aviation Course – IATA and has a significant experience in the travel industry. Prior to commencing teaching as her profession, she worked as a travel consultant for 6 years.
